Gerhardt “Guzzy” Olson, age 76, of Barron and formerly of Prairie Farm, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Dallas Care and Rehabilitation. He was born on December 21, 1932 to Harold and Clara (Gruenberg) Olson at Prairie Farm, Wisconsin. He married Lorraine Rudolph on May 25, 1957 at Cameron, Wisconsin. Guzzy loved going on vacations, fishing, feeding the birds, watching the animals, scrap booking, hunting ginseng and spending time with his family. Guzzy worked for the town and village of Prairie Farm for many years. He was also a volunteer Firefighter for 41 years, 11 of which he held the position as Chief.
Gerhardt was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Warren Odgers. He is survived by his Wife: Lorraine of Barron, Sons: Mark (Tammy) Olson of Barron and David Olson of Prairie Farm, Daughter: Lori Olson (Robert Meyers) of Prairie Farm, Grandchildren: Jamie, Eric and Adam Olson, Anthony Severson and Amber Lystig, 5 Great Grandchildren, along with many Nieces, Nephews, other Relatives and Friends.
Funeral Service will be (was) held on Friday, September 11, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at First Lutheran Church in Barron with Rev. Bruce Beyer officiating and interment at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will be (was) held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Dallas. Arrangements were made with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
