Hilda Davis, age 86, of Chetek, WI died Sunday, June 20, 2010 at Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek. She was born October 21, 1923 to Melvin & Olga (Wintrone) Severude in Dallas, WI where she was raised and attended school. On April 23, 1941, she was married to Floyd Davis at Barron and the couple farmed until 1946. Hilda loved children and dogs, especially her dog Mitzy. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting and taking care of her family. She was a woman of great humor, loving & compassionate. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Hilda was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Floyd on October 13, 2009, grandchildren: Wesley Solie, Deven & Dain White, great grandson: Colin Ebsen & brothers: Edwin Severude & Lawrence Hanson. She is survived by her sons: Bruce (Janet) Davis of Turtle Lake, Keith Davis of Dallas, Steven (Betty), Nathan & Greg (Joan) Davis all of Chetek, daughters: Laureen Davis of Chetek, Myrla Samuels of Barron, Paula (Bill) Poulson of Chetek, Kim (Layne) Grover of Chetek, Wendy (Gene) Sorum of Cameron & Roxann (Jay) Slattery of Chetek, 37 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, sisters: Peggy White of Chetek & Alice Seevers of Cameron, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 28 from Advent Christian Church in Chetek with Rev. Norman Phillips officiating and interment in Evergreen Cemetery in the Town of Sioux Creek. Visitation will be (was) held for the hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
