John N. Rude
John N. Rude, age 83, of Gambrills, MD and formerly of Cameron, WI died on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. John was born on April 25, 1927 in Cameron, Wisconsin, the eldest child of Carl and Mildred (Berg) Rude and was raised in the Cameron area. John married Emma (Rabehl) on November 28, 1959. He spent his working years in the trucking business and owned Rude Transfer in Rice Lake for Glendenning Trucking for many years and later Rude Sanitation in the Cameron and Chetek area. He was diagnosed with MS in his early 40’s and became more physically disabled as his MS progressed. Over the years he was active on many boards in the Cameron area including the Village Board, the Church Board at Faith Lutheran and the Cameron School Board. He later served as the Mayor of Cameron for 12 years. In 1991 John and his wife moved from Cameron to Gambrills, MD to be near their 3 children and their families who had moved there after graduating from college.

John is survived by his Wife: Emma in Gambrills, MD, Son: Bob (Kathy) Rude of Harwood, MD, Daughters: Linda (Bill) Berkshire of Crofton, MD, Diane (Jerry) Von Seggern of Gambrills, MD and Jeanne (Leonard) Hess of Ladysmith, WI, Grandchildren: Kyle and Jill Berkshire & Gretchen Von Seggern of Maryland and Kitsie (Matt) Nelson of Ladysmith, Great-Granddaughters: Gracie and Madison Nelson, Brother: Jim (Mary) Rude of Cameron, Sisters: Thelma Engstrom of Cameron and Lorraine (Pete) Prill of Rice Lake along with many Nieces, Nephews, other Relatives and Friends.

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron with Rev. Loren Barker officiating and interment at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron. Visitation will be (was) held from 5:00-8:30 pm on Friday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron and also an hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
