Bernice C. Nelson, age 92, of Chetek, WI, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2010 at her residence. She was born on July 19, 1918 to William and Lizzie (Weidemann) Langman in Turkey River, Iowa. Bernice was raised and attended school in Turkey River. On June 1, 1953 Bernice married Harold Nelson in Stillwater, MN. Bernice loved being around children, cooking, baking, crocheting, growing roses and other flowers and playing cards.
Bernice is preceded in death by her husband on November 5, 2010, her parents, grandson: Troy Zweifel, great grandson: Cole Davis, 3 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by her sons: Wayne (Carolyn) Zweifel of Madison, James (Judy) Zweifel of Blaine, MN, Ken (Susan) Nelson of Rice Lake, John Nelson (Bertha Tarra) of Flagstaff, AZ and Jeff (Debra) Nelson of Chetek, daughters: Janet (Larry) Bushinger of Omaha, NE, Arlene White (James Ciulla) of Cameron and Sandra (James) Anderson of Comstock, many grandchildren and great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, brothers: Raymond (Anna) Langman of Chetek and Lloyd (Jackie) Langman of Waukesha along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at Canton United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Altman officiating and interment at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner. Visitation will be (was) held from 9:00-11:00 am on Tuesday at the Church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
