Robert W. “Buster” Baldwin, age 86, of Cameron, WI passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2010. He was born on June 23, 1924 to Wesley and Bertie (Mock) Baldwin in Stanley, WI. Robert served WWII in South Pacific and flew 40 missions as an A&E and gunner. On July 5, 1946 he and Maxine Crandall eloped in Red Wing, MN. Their first family home was on Lake Wissota before moving to Shoreview, MN in 1968, then to Cameron where he lived for the past 3 years. Robert was a Deacon in the Church of God, was always a gentleman and a very loving and caring person.
He is preceded in death by his wife on April 12, 2008, parents, brothers: Douglas and Gordon and grandson: Eric. He is survived by his sons: Kedric (Penny) of Andover, MN and Brian (Kathy) Baldwin of Jacobson, MN, daughter: Debra (Robert Henning) Kirt of Cameron, grandchildren: Lisa, Nicole, Nathan, David, Elizabeth, Priscilla, Jesse and Benjamin, great-grandchildren: Lucas, Abigail, Maggie, Riley and Emily, brother: Lionel LeGault of Watertown, MN along with many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be (were) held on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 2:00 pm at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron with Marshall Stiver officiating and interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN at a later date. Visitation will be (was) held from 1:00-2:00 pm on Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home, Cameron & Dallas.
