Irvin T. Stole, age 85, of Prairie Farm, WI went home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2007 at home surrounded by family. He was born May 16, 1922 to John & Rachel (Tjelta) Stole at Radcliffe, IA. He was baptized & confirmed in the Stavanger Lutheran Church in Garden City, IA and attended school at Radcliffe. On February 15, 1942, he was united in marriage to Margaret Boeke at Hubbard, IA. The couple shared 65 years together and was blessed with their son, Lon, in 1950. In 1953, the family moved to Prairie Farm where they farmed. In 1954, they moved to Anaheim, CA where Irvin was in the construction business. They moved back to Prairie Farm in 1958 where Irvin again farmed and also drove school bus for the Prairie Farm School District, retiring in 1985. Irvin was a charter member and Deacon of St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Garden Grove, CA. He was also a member of United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm where he had served on the building committee. He also had served as a board member for the low income housing in Prairie Farm. Irvin enjoyed horse pulling for many years and has many trophies to show his accomplishments. He had many other favorite pastimes including bowling, golfing, camping & spending time with his family & friends. He enjoyed all of the time spent with his grandchildren and especially enjoyed all of the great grandchildren. Irvin’s family truly was his pride & joy.
Irvin was preceded in death by his parents & 1 sister: Janice Carter. He is survived by his wife: Margaret of Prairie Farm, son: Lon (Tammy) of Coon Rapids, MN, grandchildren: Renee of Eau Claire, Kristin of Menomonie & Greg of Blaine, MN, great grandchildren: Keyton, Tanner, Jalen, Amari & Avery, sisters: Alvina Brinkmeyer of Hubbard, IA, Rozella Geil of Washington, IA, Ilene Wiley of Albion, IA & Marilyn Carlson of Cumberland, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Let us give thanks to God for the life & memory of Irvin Stole. The family would like to give great thanks to all that have helped in the many countless ways. No one has gone unnoticed.
Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12 from United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm with Rev. Jennifer Elmquist officiating and interment in Sunset Cemetery in the Town of Prairie Farm. Visitation will be (was) from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Dallas and also for the hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
