Leo V. Geer, age 78, of Ridgeland, WI died Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Luther Midelfort Northland Hospital in Barron. He was born August 26, 1932 to Orin & Annabelle (Gunderson) Geer in the Town of Wilson, Dunn County, WI. & he attended grade school in the Ridgeland area. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War in the infantry division. After returning home he farmed with his parents on the family farm southeast of Ridgeland. After his parents retired and moved to town, Leo continued working for area farmers. He enjoyed the small town atmosphere, planting and tending to his garden and watching the birds and wildlife in his yard. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and also fishing trout at a nearby stream or river.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents & sister: Arlys Geer. He is survived by his aunt: June (Gilbert) Sarazan of Bloomer, as well as many cousins, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8 at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Dallas with Rev. Les Walck officiating and interment in Greenwood Cemetery in the Town of Dallas with Military Honors accorded by the Willard Hinzman American Legion Post 511 of Ridgeland. Visitation will be (was) held for the hour prior to services at the funeral home. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
