Charles O. Kamrath
Charles Otto Kamrath, age 85, of Cameron, WI passed away on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Heritage Manor in Rice Lake. He was born to Otto and Florence (Fuller) Kamrath on November 11, 1925 in Cameron, Wisconsin. Charles “Chuck” married Ione Helen Lucht on December 27, 1952. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in February of 1950 and served during the Korean War. Chuck was a Drivers License Examiner for the State of Wisconsin DMV and retired in 1988 after 32 years of dedicated service. Chuck was active in several organizations, including serving as Past Commander of the Pieper-Marsh American Legion Post 194 of Cameron, Past President of the Cameron Civic Club & Board Member at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cameron. He enjoyed many activities including singing in the church choir, cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, playing dirty clubs with friends and family members, camping, fishing, and especially deer hunting.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, son: Dale Kamrath, granddaughter: Elissa Kamrath & brothers: Rollin, Richard & Kenneth Kamrath. He is survived by his loving wife: Ione, sons: Bruce (Mary) Kamrath of Chetek & Barry (Pam) Kamrath of Eau Claire, daughter: Kathy Kamrath of Rice Lake, grandchildren: Christopher (Sonja) & Brittany Kamrath, Austin Miloszewicz, Maya, Caleb, & Marcus Kamrath, great grandchildren: Miles & Luke Kamrath, sister: Louella Carlson of Negaunee, MI & his faithful companion: CQ, his cat.
Funeral services for Charles Kamrath will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 11th at Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron with Rev. Loren Barker officiating and internment to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron with Military Honors accorded by Pieper-Marsh American Legion Post 194. Visitation will be (was) held from 4:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, October 10th at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron and also one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
