Marie A. Brooten, age 92, of Barron & formerly of Cameron, WI died Monday, December 31, 2007 at Luther Midelfort Northland Hospital in Barron. She was born February 12, 1915 to John & Mary (Henrichsmeiar) St. Louis at Barron, WI. She lived in the Barron/Poskin area until her mother passed away in 1927. The family then moved to Cameron where they made their home with their “Aunt Lucy” St. Louis and Marie graduated from Cameron High School in 1933. On May 27, 1941, she was united in marriage to Bernard C. Brooten at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cameron. Marie was an active member of the church and the Altar & Rosary Society. She enjoyed cards, bingo, cooking, gardening, large family gatherings and her grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Bernard on March 24, 1992 and her infant grandson: Matthew John Bossany on July 17, 1973. She is survived by her daughters: Mary (James) Rude of Cameron, Catherine Voigt of Lake Mills, Louise (Allan) Hamilton of Eldridge, IA, Lori (Robert) Bossany of Menomonie & Dorothy (Ben) Ryba of Cameron, son: Bernard J. (LuAnn) Brooten of Cameron, 15 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, sister: Pearl Olson of Chetek, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be (was) held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 5 from St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cameron with Father Ron Levra officiating and interment in Pine Grove Cemetery at Cameron. Visitation will be (was) from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron with a prayer service held at 7:00 p.m. and also for the hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
