Edythe M. Rahn, age 84,of Cameron, WI died Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Area Nursing Home in Colfax, WI. She was born March 25, 1923 to Lawrence & Nancy (LaFave) Koehler at Weyerhaeuser, WI where she was raised and attended school. After graduating from Weyerhaeuser High School, she worked for a time at the Pentagon and later for General Foods in Chicago where she met her future husband. On June 5, 1948, she was united in marriage to Leonard Rahn in Chicago and they resided there for about 2 years. The couple moved to the Cameron area in 1951. In the later years, she and Leonard enjoyed trips to the casino. Edythe was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cameron and loved bowling and spending time with family. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers & playing cards.
Edythe was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Leonard on December 22, 2000, daughter: Judy, brothers: Russell & Ben Koehler & sisters: Hazel Koehler & Clara Schesvold. She is survived by her daughters: Karen (Terry) Skaar of Cameron, Kathy (Mike) Kofler of Prentice & Sandra (Oliver) Garr of Vancouver, WA, grandchildren: Jason Slagstad, Michelle (Tom) Burgraff, Michelle Skaar, Ty Skaar, Sara Kofler & Isaiah Garr, great grandchildren: Audrey & Spencer Burgraff, Charissa & Deven Hrdlicka & Renee Beaudrie, great great grandchildren: Alexia & Jaime, sisters: Mildred (Ben) Dulian of Cameron & Mary Tollefson of Rice Lake, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be (was) held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 15 from St. Jospeh’s Catholic Church in Barron with Father Ronald Levra officiating and interment in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Rice Lake. Visitation will be (was) from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
