Alice "Peggy" Holten

Alice “Peggy” Joanne Holten, age 59, of Prairie Farm, WI died Sunday, February 26th, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. She was born May 31st, 1957 to Donald & Joanne (Quarderer) Allen at Stillwater, MN. On July 28th, 1990, she married the love of her life, Harold Holten at Barron, WI. Together they raised two children, Tina & Donny. The couple lived in Prairie Farm where Peggy worked for Midwest Ducts for many years. She loved to sew, crochet, read, cross stitch & crossword puzzles. She also loved going to garage sales. She could never just drive by one & always had to buy something at every one she stopped at. Every weekend she would go to watch her son pull his mini rods. She always looked forward to going to “Gump Fest: twice a year. She also looked forward to morning coffee at the BP & visiting with her daughter. She looked forward to spending time with family no matter if it was sitting outside or going for a simple ride around the block. She had three granddaughters, Mercedes, Lexus & McKaylah & would do anything in the world for those three little girls. They could call her up & ask “Grandma would you take us shopping?” She could never say no. Every spring she would take them up north to “Gump Fest”. They loved spending the weekend up there with her & that’s all the four of them would talk about for weeks. She was a loving wife, mother & grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, brother: James, sisters: Tammy & Cindy & her father & mother-in-law: Glenn & Inez Holten. She is survived by her husband: Harold, son: Donny (Niki) Holten, daughter: Tina (Mike) Nelson, granddaughters: Mercedes, Lexus & McKaylah, brothers: Larry, George (Lisa) & Tom Allen, sister: Judy (Phil) Lockwood, brothers-in-law: Lenny, Gordon (Debbie) & Dale (Linda) Holten, sisters-in-law: LuAnn (Harlan) Johnson & Minnie Allen, best friend: Annette (Jeff) Harland, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral Services will be (were) held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 2nd at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm with Rev. Erin Koster officiating & interment following in the Hay River Cemetery in the Town of Hay River, Dunn County, WI. Visitation will be (was) held from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Dallas & also for the hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
