Betty L. Misselt, age 79, of Ridgeland, WI passed away Saturday, March 2nd, 2019 at Our House Memory Care in Rice Lake. She was born June 1st, 1939 to Asa & Emma (Turner) Carter at Bellingham, WA. In 1958, she met Richard Misselt who was stationed at Widby Island, WA & they were married May 15th, 1959 at Seattle. The couple lived in Aurora, IL for 5 years before returning to Wisconsin to dairy farm. Betty worked at UW Stout for 30 years as the head secretary for the Dean of Economics. She retired in 1997 & they became snowbirds to the Laferia, TX area. She enjoyed her family, reading, casinos, Texas & watching her granddaughters show horses & other sporting events. She was smart, kind & ambitious. She was active in the Pine Creek Lutheran Church & her church family & neighbors were an important part of her life.
Betty is survived by her husband: Richard of 59 years, daughter: Rhonda (Mike) Stauner, sons: Alan (Cindy) & Ken Misselt, grandchildren: Stephanie (Matt) McDonough, Mitch (Sarah) Stauner, Tracy (Derek) Riebe, Haley Stauner (fiancé: Taylor Harmon), Ashley, Amber, Alyssa & Andrew Misselt & Gavan Hanson, 9 great grandchildren, sister: Wanda Grutt, brother: Charles (Maybell) Carter, as well as many nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 9th at New Hope Lutheran Church-Pine Creek in the Town of Wilson, rural Ridgeland, with Rev. Michael Sparby officiating. Visitation will be (was) held for the hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will take place in the spring in the church cemetery. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
