Catherine J. Poirier

Catherine J. Poirier, age 74, of Chetek, WI died Friday, November 30th, 2018 at her home. She was born September 29th, 1944 to Louis & Iolene (Morarend) Krupa at Gilman, WI where she was raised and attended school. On November 15th, 1994 she was married to Robert Poirier at Las Vegas, NV. Catherine was a Christian with a sense of humor. She loved gardening the most & could grow anything, even plants that could not grow here. During car trips you could plan on stopping along the way to dig up plants. She always had a huge garden and took pride in making the flower gardens and yard look like a park. Her flower gardens were beautiful and attracted many beautiful birds. She also enjoyed canning the foods she produced. She loved crafts, always trying to figure out how to make something. She loved everything Victorian & collected Victorian dolls & carousels. She loved taking care of her home, laughing with friends & going to yard sales. She loved to be a unique person & loved to sparkle, from clothing to decorating, it had to be colorful & pretty. Lastly, Catherine was a very caring person & was always looking out for someone.

Catherine was preceded in death by her parents, first husband: Charles Streit & second husband: Kenneth Wertz. She is survived by her husband: Robert of Chetek, son: Kenneth “Shawn” Wertz of Cameron, daughter: Sandi (Buzz) Burrell of Seven Lakes, NC, grandchildren: Dustin & Maddie Burrell, Jessie Akins, Zachary Dzimiela, Tonya Leahy & Connor Wertz, sister: Rita (Robert) Wood of Plant City, FL, as well as other relatives & friends.

Funeral Services

A Private Graveside service will be held at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Cameron. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
