Charles Slagel Obituary

Charles D. “Chuck” Slagel, age 83, of Ridgeland, WI passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2022 at Meadowbrook of Chetek. He was born on January 30, 1939 in Park Falls, WI to Ben and Darlene (Rogers) Slagel. The family later moved to Siren, WI where he graduated from High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1962-1964. On July 18, 1970, he was married to Mavis Fawcett and the couple settled in Ridgeland, WI. Charles went into truck driving and continued to do that all of his life until retiring. Over the years, he enjoyed hunting, fishing & spending time outdoors.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, daughters: Roxanne Knutson & Kathy Wuorenma, son: Donald Dodge & his ex-wife: Mavis (Fawcett) Gavin. He is survived by his son: Douglas Slagel of Ridgeland, daughters: Carol Walther (Jim Smith) of Minong, WI, Clara Minor (Robert Clark “BC”) of Radisson, WI & Pauline (Dale) Bents of Hillsdale, grandchildren: McKale & Michael Slagel & McKenna (Travis) Glaser, 9 other grandchildren, several great grandchildren, brother: Brad (Helen) Slagel of Ridgeland, sister: Bonnie (Tom) Fokken of Iowa, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Services

A Celebration of Life will be held from Noon-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Dallas. Interment will be at a later date in the Northern WI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Spooner. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
