Donna Miller Obituary

Donna Mae (Fladten) Miller, age 87, of Prairie Farm passed away on Thursday, November 29th, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire. She was born February 7th, 1931 to Glen & Luella (Goodchild) Fladten, the second oldest of 8 children, in the Town of Sheridan, Dunn County, WI on the family farm south of Prairie Farm where she was raised and attended school. On August 19th, 1949 she was married to Wilbur Miller at Merrill, WI. Together they raised 7 children & farmed in the Town of Sheridan for many years. They milked 42 Guernsey cows & worked out all at the same time along with raising their family. Donna worked at restaurants in Ridgeland. She and Wilbur owned & operated the Dairyland Café from 1977-1991. She also helped her son Todd at Dutchman’s until she was 82, making all of the dressings and preparing the fish. Donna loved to cook & bake. Some of the family favorites were potato dumplings, homemade breads, doughnuts & cookies. Donna moved to Ridgeland after Wilbur’s death on September 29th, 1986.

In addition to her husband, Donna was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter: Angela Miller, daughter-in-law: Debbie Miller, foster daughter: Lorraine Stokes, brother: Thomas Fladten & sister: Beverly Bever. She is survived by her children: Terry (Carolyn) Miller of Barron, Steven (Darlene) Miller of Ridgeland, Bradley (Sheri) Miller of Prairie Farm, Todd (Peggy) Miller of Ridgeland, Tammy (Dan) Sabby of Menomonie, Andrew (Candice) Miller of Prairie Farm & Patrick (Jill) Miller of Prairie Farm, 18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, brothers: Duane (Norreta) Fladten of Chetek & Richard (Patricia) Fladten of Eau Claire, sisters: Gloria Jones of Ridgeland, Nancy (Gary) Quast of Malta, NY & Susan (Ray) Davis of Blaine, MN, a special dear friend: Lynnea Soderberg, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral Services

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8th at United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm with Rev. Erin Koster officiating & interment following in St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Prairie Farm. Visitation will be (was) held from 4-7 p.m. Friday & 10-11 a.m. Saturday, both at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
