Duane “Dewey” M. Wintrone, age 79, of Dallas, WI died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on Friday, February 16th, 2018. He was born May 20th, 1938 to Bennie & Agnes (Briggs) Wintrone in Barron County, where he grew up on the family farm. In his late teens, he went to work construction in Chicago. He moved back home, hauled milk & built silos for 9 years. On June 24th, 1967, he was married to Jane Christianson at New Scandinavia Lutheran Church in the Town of Maple Grove, WI & they celebrated 50 years of marriage in 2017, which was a great accomplishment for him. Together, they took over the family farm in 1969 & raised 3 children: Joe, Kristina & Sheila. Duane farmed for 32 years before retiring. In his retirement he enjoyed road trips, fishing trips to Canada & summer & ice fishing here at home. He also enjoyed building & fixing things.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Willie & Lloyd Wintrone & daughter-in-law: Becky Wintrone. He is survived by his wife: Jane, son: Joe Wintrone, daughters: Kristina Wintrone & Sheila (Bob) Rogers, granddaughter: Tia Lee (Tyler), grandsons: Dominic & Austin Rogers & Jesse Wintrone, sisters: Wanda (Rod) Provin & Darlene (Don) Solie, as well as many other relatives & friends.
Funeral Service
Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 22nd at Dallas Lutheran Church with Rev. Heather Kistner officiating. Visitation will be (was) held from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday & also for the hour prior to services on Thursday, both at the church. Interment will be in the spring in the Dallas Cemetery. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
