Edward Shultz Obituary

Edward Edwin Shultz, age 70, of Prairie Farm, WI died Saturday, November 4th, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire surrounded by his family. He was born September 1st, 1947 to Levi & Martha (Roatch) Shultz at Rice Lake. He was baptized & confirmed at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Campia. On November 26th, 1966, he was married to Beverly Evenson at the Bethany Lutheran Brethren Church in Colfax. The couple spent 50 years of marriage together and welcomed two daughters: Peggy & Jody. Ed worked various jobs in his younger years. The most gratifying jobs for him was being a dairy farmer, a bus driver & a volunteer firefighter for 30+ years on the Prairie Farm Fire Department. In his spare time, he loved to hunt, fish & spend many hours traveling to his kids’ or grandkids’ sporting events. His greatest pastimes were riding horse, camping & spending time with his family & friends. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren, “Punky, Beast, Monster & Munchkin” & his great grandson, “Tiny”. Ed was always the guy to crack a joke and put a smile on your face, especially when he was joking around with his grandkids or friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, father & mother-in-law: Ed & Evelyn Evenson, son-in-law: Dan Hiben, grandson: Tyler Roemhild, brother: David Shultz, sisters: Clara & Nancy Shultz, sister-in-law: Lois Boe, brothers-in-law: Erlin Boe, Bob Henderson & Butch Micheels, nephew: Brad Micheels & niece: Steph Behne. He is survived by his wife: Beverly, daughters: Peggy (David) Rassbach & Jody Hiben, granddaughters: Brittany Rassbach (Charlie Selkow), Megan Rassbach, Nicole & Allison Hiben, great grandson: Mason Rassbach, sisters: Edna Henderson, Fern Micheels, Kathy (Lynn) Crenshaw & Judy Shultz, brothers: Carl (Theresa), Gary (Phyllis), Allen, Billy (Lisa) & Don Shultz, sister-in-law: Rita Shultz, his loving dog: Sandy, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral Service

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 17th at the First Lutheran Church of Arland with Rev. Tim Vettrus officiating & interment following at Vanceburg Cemetery in the Town of Sheridan, rural Prairie Farm. Visitation will be (was) held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday & 10-11 a.m. Friday, both at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
