Jalmer R. Pederstuen, age 92, of Prairie Farm & formerly of Ridgeland, WI died Saturday, May 19th, 2018 at Pioneer Health & Rehabilitation in Prairie Farm. He was born April 19th, 1926 to Torger & Guri (Graanslasen) Pederstuen at Prairie Farm where he was raised and attended school. He attended grade school at Prairie Farm Heights & graduated from Prairie Farm High School in 1944. He then worked on the family farm with his father until entering the U.S. Army in 1952. He served in Korea & received the Purple Heart. After returning home, he continued to farm & also worked at several area Post Offices. On August 22nd, 1975, he was married to Pearl (Christopherson) Ellefson at Nashua, IA. Jalmer enjoyed traveling & visited Norway at least 9 times to visit relatives there. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing & playing cards. He was a long-time member of New Hope Lutheran Church-Pine Creek, The Disabled American Veterans, Willard Hinzman American Legion Post 511 of Ridgeland & Sons of Norway.

Jalmer was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Pearl on May 14th, 2009, infant siblings: Selmer & Selma, brothers: Palmer, Ingman & Morris Pederstuen & niece: Tammy. He is survived by his step-daughters: Tena & Renee & their families, sisters-in-law: June Pederstuen of Rice Lake & Shirley Pederstuen of Prairie Farm, his relatives in Norway, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral Services
Funeral services will be (were) held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24th at New Hope Lutheran Church-Pine Creek in the Town of Wilson, rural Ridgeland, with Rev. Janelle Harrison officiating & interment following in the church cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Willard Hinzman American Legion Post. Visitation will be (was) held for the hour prior to services at the church on Thursday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
