James H. VanBruggen, age 56, of Exeland, WI went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 5th, 2018 at his home. He was born November 22nd, 1961 to Hendrik & Mae VanBruggen at Valley City, ND. He was raised an only child on a farm near Litchville, ND & graduated from high school there in 1980. He took a short break from farming from 1987-1989, to serve in the U.S. Army as an infantryman. He then continued farming the family farm until 1997, during which time he was married to Michelle Keaveny until 1999. To them, 5 children were born. On November 29th, 2002, he was married to Sherry Marie Losey at Barron, WI & they made their peaceful home in the Rice Lake area since 2005. James worked in many fields aside from farming. Most notably, he worked as an equipment operator for Bell Timber in Barron & as a truck driver. He was a gifted woodworker & especially enjoyed building Dutch windmills. James did not live for this life alone. He lived instead with his eyes on Jesus & his heart’s treasure in Heaven with the Lord. He sought justice, loved mercy & walked humbly with his God. James cherished his wife, loved his children, found great joy in the new life of his grandchildren & deeply desired faith in Jesus for all those he knew.
