Ledonna Halverson Obituary

Ledonna “Joy” Halverson, age 88, of Dallas, WI died Saturday, December 30th, 2017 at Barron Care & Rehabilitation. She was born October 2nd, 1929 to Alfred & Ethel (Morris) Godbout at Princeton, MN where she was raised and attended school. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1947 & went on to attend North Central Bible College in Minneapolis. On June 11th, 1949 she was married to James Halverson at St. Cloud, MN & James built them a home in Dallas. Joy became an active member of Dallas Assembly of God & served there as a pianist for 40 years. Her church was very important to her and she served in many various capacities over the years, supporting missionaries was an area most important to her. Joy loved music, playing the piano & singing. She also enjoyed cooking, watching the birds & taking car rides. Family was also very important to her & she will be deeply missed by her family & friends.

Joy was preceded in death by her parents, husband: James on January 10th, 1996 & sisters: Mary Ellen Culbertson & Mayfred Jacobsen. She is survived by her sons: Douglas Halverson of Menomonie, Phillip (Sue) Halverson of New Auburn & Jeffrey Halverson of Santa Maria, CA, daughters: Linda Halverson of Rice Lake, Kristin (Chris) Olson of Barron & Sheryl (Doug) Bennett of Blaine, MN, grandchildren: Brent Halverson, Lauren (Adam) Kopras, Justin Halverson, Tessa Baumberger, Tom (Jessica) Halverson, Heidi (Jeremy) Tietz, Brandon & Nick Strand, Erika De La Torre, Kayla (Cullen) Fahey, Ben (Kara) & Heather Black, 20 great grandchildren, brother: David (Ginnie) Godbout, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral Service

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 6th at Dallas Lutheran Church with Rev. Chad Halverson officiating & interment following in the Dallas Cemetery. Visitation will be (was) held from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Dallas & also for the hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
