Lois Johnston Obituary

Lois Y. Johnston, age 81, of Chetek, WI died Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 at her home. She was born January 27th, 1937 to Benjamin & Florella (Smith) Hollister in Chetek. She was raised & attended school in Chetek & later Rice Lake. On November 6th, 1954, she was married to David Johnston at Pine City, MN. Lois was a homemaker & worked with her husband in their calf business while raising their 3 children. She enjoyed feeding calves, painting, crocheting, knitting, camping & traveling, making many lasting friendships along the way. She enjoyed time spent with family & friends, watching the Green Bay Packers, the Bachelor/Bachelorette & Dancing with the Stars. She was loved by many & will be greatly missed by all.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband: David on October 29th, 2007 & brother: Harley “Bob” Hollister. She is survived by her sons: Jeff Johnston (Bonnie Swanson) & Steve (Kim) Johnston, daughter: Roxanne (Dennis) O’Brien, grandchildren: James Johnston, Cory O’Brien, Joe & Jason Johnston, Lisa Kipp, Justin Johnston, Nikki Beal & Levi Johnston, 19 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brother: DeWayne (Betty) Hollister, sister: Colleen Manecke, special friend: Joanne Rehberg, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral Service

Funeral services will be (were) held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 19th at Chetek United Methodist Church with Revs. Changki Kim & Gerald Hibbard officiating. Visitation will be (was) held from 4-8 p.m. on Sunday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron & also for the hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Interment will be at a later date in the Wayside Cemetery in Barron. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
