Marshall J. Aune

Marshall Jerome Aune, age 63, of Ridgeland, WI died Monday, May 1st, 2017 in the Town of Turtle Lake, Barron County, WI. He was born December 2nd, 1953 to Oscar & Jennie (Flaw) Aune at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Rice Lake. He attended school in Prairie Farm where he graduated in 1972. After graduating, he moved to Rhinelander where he logged with his brother Wilmer for many years. In 1973 he married Julie Mau & to this marriage 2 boys were born, Jamey & Christopher. After jobs & life took him many different places, he eventually settled back near family in the Ridgeland area. Later he met Julie Hafner & 3 children were born, Eric, Tara & Tabitha. In later years he pursued his passion for old classic cars, his favorite being a 1934 Ford that he sought after for many years. Thanks to his good friends, Merv & Sheila Bergman, they made this dream come true. Marshall had friends in every walk of life. He would stop by the Amish & bring home pies. He knew them all by name. He landed his dream job at the Clayton Post Office as a rural mail carrier & was looking forward to retiring. The most recent joy in his life is his twin granddaughters, Lena & Nora. He visited them every chance he could.

In addition to his children, Marshall is survived by his sister: Wilma Kidney of Hubertus, brother: Gordon (Rita) Aune of Ridgeland, sister-in-law: Patty Aune of Cameron, 7 grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. He will be deeply missed by all.

Funeral Services will be (were) held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7th at the Ridgeland Community Center with Rev. Tim Vettrus officiating & interment following in Akers Cemetery in the Town of Prairie Farm. Visitation will be (was) held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
