Michael J. Willemssen, age 79, of Rice Lake & formerly of Eau Claire & Chetek, WI died Sunday, February 10th, 2019 at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield. He was born April 2nd, 1939 to Casey & Erna (Nehiba) Willemssen at Medford, WI where he was raised and attended school. He graduated from Medford High School in 1957. On November 26th, 1976 he was married to Mary Fischer at Eau Claire. He worked as a truck driver most of his life for Nuendorf Trucking which later became ANR, working out of Medford & later Eau Claire, until his retirement in 1995. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting & fishing & took numerous trips out west. After retiring, he & Mary also spent many winters in Texas.
Michael and FamilyMichael was preceded in death by his parents & father & mother-in-law: Ervin & Loretta Fischer. He is survived by his wife: Mary of Rice Lake, sons: Perry (Crystal) Willemssen of Athens, WI, Brad Willemssen of Athens & Chad (Jeneen) Willemssen of Stratford, WI, daughter: Pam (Ken) Stencil of Mount Horeb, WI, grandchildren: Zac (Elyse), Ben (Claire) & Casey (Myranda) Stencil, Dylan & Dakota Willemssen & Ciera Bornheimer, great grandchildren: Rosen Stencil & 1 due in June, as well as many other relatives & friends.
Funeral ServiceAs were Michael’s wishes, private services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Eau Claire. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas, WI.
