Mike Witkowski

Michael “Mike” P. Witkowski, age 73, of Chetek, WI passed away on Monday, December 18th, 2017 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire due to natural causes.

Mike was born to parents, Peter and Gladys (Struckman) Witkowski, on July 3rd, 1944 in Minnesota. He was the youngest of two children and attended Brooklyn Center High School in Minnesota. He went on to serve in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War for four years.

Mike married Judy Thompson on July 12th, 1969 after meeting on a blind date. Mike and Judy had three daughters. They purchased Sunset View Country Club from Mike’s brother, Peter, in 1983. The Sunset View Country Club Golf Course was previously owned by Mike and Peter’s father, Pete Witkowski since 1945.

Mike is survived by two daughters: Shelly Witkowski (Eddie Bisset) and Mandi Witkowski (Dan LaRue), his grandchildren: Kaisa (Josh) Asunto, Kaylen Witkowski, Amber Anderson (Ryan Anderson), Kristopher Heisz, Kylee Heisz and Braxton Bisset, great granddaughters: Remi and Olive Asunto, as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife: Judy Witkowski on January 24th, 2012, his daughter: Stacy Witkowski, his great grandson: Gunnar Asunto, his brother: Peter Witkowski and his parents: Pete and Gladys Witkowski.

A Celebration of Mike’s Life will be held at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron on Tuesday, December 26th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Interment will be at a later date in Wayside Cemetery at Barron. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
