Morris John Wirth, age 84, of Ridgeland, WI died Wednesday, December 13th, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Barron. He was born January 23rd, 1933 to Emil & Nora (Stovern) Wirth in the Town of Prairie Farm where he was raised and attended school. On June 15th, 1957, he was married to Virginia Scott at Rice Lake. The couple raised 4 sons & spent many years farming their own farm in the Prairie Farm area. After retiring, they moved to Ridgeland where they spent their days babysitting their great grandchildren & many other kids in the area. Morris spent many years as the crossing guard at the Ridgeland School where you would always be greeted with a huge smile & a friendly wave. He enjoyed watching the birds, the “Packers”, mowing lawn, raking hay & visiting with friends & family.
Morris was preceded in death by his parents & brother: Phillip Wirth. He is survived by his wife: Virginia of Ridgeland, sons: DeWayne Wirth of Ridgeland, Dean Wirth of Cameron, Dennis (Lona) & Daryl (Kathy) Wirth all of Prairie Farm, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, sister-in-law: June Wirth, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.
Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 20th at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Prairie Farm with Rev. Roger Quandt officiating & interment following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be (was) held for the hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
