Norma Ellen Jenson, age 87, of Barron, & formerly of Cameron, WI died Friday, January 10th, 2020 at Barron Care & Rehabilitation. She was born January 29th, 1932 to George & Esther (Lundeen) McCulloch at Cooperstown, ND where she was raised and attended school. She attended Central School & was a member of the Girl Scouts & Campfire Girls. Norma graduated from Cooperstown High School as class Valedictorian in 1950. She was a member of Quill & Schroll, as well as the National Honor Society during her high school years. Norma was a baptized & confirmed member of the Norwegian Lutheran Church, later Trinity Lutheran & a member of the L.D.R. On June 3rd, 1951, she was married to Grant Jenson of rural New Auburn, WI at Moorhead, MN. They lived at Great Lakes, IL for a short while & then at Newport, RI where Grant was stationed with the U.S. Navy. After Grant’s discharge, they purchased a home in rural New Auburn, later moving to Cameron & then to Barron. Norma worked at Gorseth’s Store in Cooperstown during her high school years & also the Marquart Café with her grandmother, Edith McCulloch. In the Rice Lake area she worked for Milbeco, Mastercraft Industries & Brecka’s Floral & Gifts. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron where she was active in the Sarah Circle & the quilting group. She was also a member of the Barron County Historical Society.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents & husband: Grant on May 16th, 2002. She is survived by her brother: Allen (Ruth) McCulloch of Minneapolis, MN.
Interment will be in the Northern WI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Spooner. No services being are planned. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
