Norman F. Scheil, age 89, of Dallas, WI died Thursday, June 21, 2018, at his home. He was born February 3, 1929, to Henry and Hulda (Filter) Scheil on the family farm in the Town of Hillsdale, Barron County, where he was raised. He then graduated from Barron High School in 1947. Norman enlisted in the United States Army on March 26, 1952, serving overseas in the Korean War as Staff Sergeant for three years. On March 28, 1953 he married Marilyn (Werner) Scheil of Boston, Massachusetts in North Branch, Minnesota. Norman spent his entire life in the Hillsdale area, dairy and crop farming. In addition, his passion for tree farming earned Norman and Marilyn, along with their family, the Wisconsin Outstanding State Tree Farm Award in 1981. Marilyn passed away in 1993 from cancer after 40 years of marriage. Norman’s interest in traveling brought him to the Philippines where he met Sarah Fajardo. Soon after, they were married and blessed with a daughter, Norsha May Scheil. Norman held a strong love for family and friends. He greatly enjoyed cruising the trails of his beloved woods in his Jeep.

Surviving, in addition to his wife Sarah & daughter Norsha of Dallas, WI, is his son: Gordon (Brenda) Scheil of Prairie Farm, WI, daughters: Bonnie (Michael) Stafne of Clayton, WI & Kim (Michael) Melgaard of Hillsdale, WI, grandchildren: Grandon Scheil, Alice Stafne, Ashley Stafne, Ben Melgaard & Clay Melgaard, brother: Erwin Scheil of Cameron, WI, sister: Elaine (Bob) Klicker of Billings, Montana, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends. Preceding Norman in death was his first wife: Marilyn, parents, & brother: Jim Scheil.
Funeral Services
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 30, from United Lutheran Church in Prairie Farm with Pastor Erin Koster officiating & interment following at Glenwood Cemetery in the Town of Dallas. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Friday, June 29th, at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Dallas & also for the hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
