Odin Huseth Obituary

Odin L. Huseth, age 86, of Cameron, WI passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Atrium Post Acute Care in Chetek surrounded by his loving family. Odin was born November 5, 1930 in the Township of Dallas, WI to Gustave and Clara (Melby) Huseth and was the youngest of seven sons. After the death of his father in December 1933, the family moved to the Mac Lake area, west of Spooner where he attended grade school through the sixth grade. He graduated from Spooner High School in May 1949, a month after his mother’s passing. After graduating high school, he moved to Dallas and lived with relatives and hauled milk for a living. On September 16, 1950, he married Maxine Amundson at New Scandinavia Lutheran Church. They lived in Menomonie where he worked at Sanna Dairies. In September 1953, he started working for Wisconsin Hydro which later became Northern States Power. They lived in Dallas and Colfax before settling in Cameron for the past 51 years. Odin retired from NSP on January 1, 1991. Odin was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church. He loved sports and was a faithful Green Bay Packer fan. He was also an avid golfer who, after 35 years of golfing, scored a hole-in-one at his favorite course in Dallas. He was a kind, generous soul with a warm, infectious smile. “We have lost, Heaven has gained, the most wonderful Dad this world contained; there’s just one thing that makes us glad, God chose you to be our Dad”.
