Pearl E. Harelstad

Pearl E. Harelstad, age 91, of Chetek, WI died Thursday, July 12th, 2018 at Atrium Post Acute Care of Chetek. She was born April 11th, 1927 to Edmurald & Jemina (Harstad) Olson at Barron, WI. She was raised in Sand Creek, WI where her parents operated the Sand Creek Café. She graduated from Colfax High School and attended Luther College for a time. On September 19th, 1948, she was married to Harlan Harelstad at Sand Creek. She was a life-long member of Chetek Lutheran Church where she served as the church secretary & organist/pianist over the years. In her early years, Pearl worked at the Farmers Store in Chetek & later as a proofreader for the Chetek Alert for over 45 years. She enjoyed gardening, playing the piano & writing.

Pearl was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Harlan on April 12th, 2015, daughters: Janet Ohlkie & Kathleen Nordin & sister: Joyce Saastad. She is survived by her sons: Ronald (Katherine) Harelstad of Chetek & Robert Harelstad of Amery, granddaughter: Shannon (Ryan) Huisenga of Winnebago, IL, great grandchildren: Naveah, Christian & Noelle, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

A Memorial Service will be (was) held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, July 20th at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Guy Redfield officiating. Visitation will be (was) held from 3-5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home & interment will be at a later date in the Northern WI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Spooner. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
