Peggy Elaine Kucera, age 62, of Rice Lake, WI passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29th, 2018 at Barron Care & Rehabilitation after a courageous battle with Glioblastoma (Brain Cancer). Peggy was born September 1st, 1955 at the old Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Rice Lake, WI. Peggy graduated from Illinois Valley Central High School in Chillicothe, Illinois with the class of 1975. Peggy moved back to the Rice Lake area a short time after graduating from high school. She worked at Jennie-O Turkey Store for 23 years, retiring from there in 2006. She then worked full time as a cashier at Rice Lake Walmart until the time of her illness. When Peggy was not working she enjoyed spending her free time with family and friends, bible study, scrap booking, church activities and listening to music.
Peggy and FamilyPeggy was preceded in death by her mother: Audrey Elaine (Solie) Kurschner. She is survived by her son: Cory Kucera, her father: Donald F. Kurschner, brothers: Clark (Melody) Kurschner, Kim (Gale) Kurschner, Scott Kurschner and Trent Kurschner, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of her life will be (was) held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3rd at Red Cedar Community Church in Rice Lake with Pastor Todd Arneson officiating. Visitation will be (was) held from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron & also for the hour prior to services at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in the spring at the Dallas Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Red Cedar Community Church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
