Royal D. Lund

Royal D. Lund, age 92, of Chetek, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Meadowbrook of Chetek. Born on June 23, 1930, in Clearbrook, MN, he was the seventh of 10 children born to Arthur and Ella (Rundquist) Lund. On August 17, 1951, he married Joyce Sorensen. They spent 71 years together in love and loyalty. Royal’s zeal for his faith defined his life. His Bible study became a lifelong ministry as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He helped many to a better understanding of God’s purpose. His hope in God’s Kingdom never wavered. His faith was an example to imitate. Royal retired from Ottertail Power Company as Chief Boiler Operator at the Big Stone Plant, generating electricity for a large area of the Upper Midwest. On retirement, Royal and Joyce settled in a cute little house with big white pine trees in Cameron, WI.

Royal is survived by his wife: Joyce Lund of Chetek, daughters: Dinah Cornell (Ken) of New Auburn, WI & Cyndy Geary (John) of Crookston, MN, son: Marc Lund (Cindy) of Buffalo, MN, son-in-law: Curt Westphal (Linda) of Kennewick, WA, brother: Uno Lund (Rae Marie) of Jacksonville, FL, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter Teresa Westphal (Curt).

Funeral Services

Memorial services will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Rice Lake, WI on Sunday, May 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Central time. A Zoom streaming link will be made available at a later time. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
