Russell Orval Glaser

Russell O. Glaser, age 82, of Barron, WI died Tuesday, October 1st, 2024 at his home.  He was born December 16th, 1941 to Henry & Blanche (Eliason) Glaser at Rice Lake.  He was raised and attended school at Prairie Farm where he graduated from Prairie Farm High School.  He farmed for a time and then went to work as a truck driver for Jerome Foods.  On August 14th, 1976, he was married to Carol Kurschner at St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church in the Town of Prairie Farm.  In 1985 he took a farm manager position and ran a turkey farm in the Sand Creek area until his retirement in 2002.  The couple then moved to Chetek and later to Barron where he has resided for the past 7 years.  Russell loved fishing, gardening & bird watching & also never missed any of his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Carol on November 2nd, 2017, sons: Paul Effertz & Mark Glaser, daughter: Pam Geisinger & brother: Jerry Glaser.  He is survived by his son: Jeff (Laurie) Effertz of Hayward, daughter: Kari (Troy) Engelstad of Chetek, son-in-law: Pete Geisinger of Chetek, daughter-in-law: Kristen Glaser of Brule, grandchildren: Hope Meziere, Bailey Engelstad (Spencer), Blake Engelstad (Kassidy), McKenzie & Luke Glaser & John Sullivan, great grandchildren: Khloe, Grayson, Harper & Logan Meziere & Heaven Sullivan, brothers: Freeman (Lucy) Glaser of Prairie Farm & David (Kathy) Glaser of Park Falls, as well as many nieces, nephews, special neighbors & friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 7th at the Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Ralph Marquardt officiating.  Visitation will be held for the hour prior to services on Monday & interment will be at a later date in St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Cemetery in the Town of Prairie Farm.  Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
