Shirley Bergman Obituary

Shirley A Bergman, age 76, of Ridgeland, WI died Friday, March 3, 2023 at Pioneer Health & Rehabilitation in Prairie Farm WI, surrounded by family. She was born on January 29, 1947 to Robert and Hazel (Hudson) Marion at Chippewa Falls, WI. Shirley grew up on a farm among her 10 siblings. She graduated from Prairie Farm High School in 1965 & after graduation, she worked at Jerome’s in Barron. Throughout her life, she would babysit and help local farmer’s milk cows. She married Larry DeMers and together had 2 children (Randy and Tina) and Larry preceded her in death. On July 28, 1979, she married Kim Bergman and had a daughter (Stephanie). They raised their family in Ridgeland where Kim still lives. She retired as a CNA in Barron & after retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her family fishing, camping, and ATV riding.

Surviving, in addition to her husband of Ridgeland, is her son: Randy (Val) DeMers of Brookings, SD, two daughters: Kristina (Tim) Greenwood of Reedsburg, WI. & Stephanie (Pat) Herdahl of Independence, WI., grandchildren: Heidi Slayton, Kala DeMers, Zadrein DeMers, Bailey Wohland, Dawson Lundequam, David DeMers, Clay Herdahl, Taylor Herdahl, Tyra Herdahl & Sierra Wolhand, great granddaughter: Tiffany Slayton, father-in-law: Floyd Bergman, Sisters-in-law: Linda Bergman of Prairie Farm & Kathy Marion of Boyd, WI, sisters and brothers: Sharon (Ronald) Micheels of Ridgeland, Darlene (Steve) Miller of Ridgeland, Duane (Peggy) Marion of Prairie Farm, Debra Lorenz of LaCrosse, Dale (Betty) Marion of Boyd & Vickie Middleton of Cadott, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Hazel Marion, first husband: Larry DeMers, brothers: Robert Jr. Marion, Ralph Marion, Jerome Marion, Earl Marion, mother-in-law: Audrey Bergman, brothers-in-law: Kevin Scheubel & Dave Middleton & sisters-in-law: Eileen Marion and Lois Marion.

Funeral Services

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 11, from 1-4 p.m. at the Prairie Farm Community Center. Interment will be held in the spring at the Oak Grove cemetery, rural Ridgeland. Thank you to the Pioneer Nursing Home and St. Croix Hospice staff that helped to take care of her at the end of her journey in life. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
