Shirley L. Bullis

Shirley L. Bullis, age 81, of Cameron, WI died Monday, July 31st, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Barron. She was born June 23rd, 1936 to Melvin & Doris (Webster) Gaard at Eau Claire. On August 3rd, 1955, she was married to Daniel Bullis at Eau Claire. Shirley worked for the Postal Service for many years & served as Postmaster of Trevor, New Munster & Rochester, WI before retiring. She was an avid snowmobiler & was one of the first female trail groomers in Wisconsin. She made great Thresherman’s breakfasts & enjoyed gardening, traveling, camping, feeding the birds & spending time with her family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law: Rick Lawrence, brother: Gary Gaard & sister: Marlys Lund. She is survived by her husband: Dan of Cameron, sons: Michael (Cynthia) Bullis of East Dundee, IL & Danner (Kathleen) Bullis of Madison, daughters: Deb Lawrence (John Bjorklund) of Spooner & Linda (Peter) Leon of Pineville, LA, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives & friends.

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 4th at Stanfold Lutheran Church in the Town of Stanfold, rural Rice Lake, with Rev. John Bergson officiating & interment following in Northern WI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery at Spooner. Visitation will be (was) held for the hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
