Verna Kisling Obituary

Verna Barbara Kisling, age 91, of Cameron, WI died Friday, November 2, 2018, at Marshfield Medical Center in Rice Lake. She was born June 29, 1927 at Pittsville, WI to Anthony and Rose (Diehn) Skrupky. She grew up in the Cameron area and graduated from Cameron High School. She worked at the Farmers store in Cameron after high school. On July 21, 1951, she married Lyle Harland Kisling. Verna and Lyle were both involved with Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts for many years. Verna was an active member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church choir and altar society. After being a homemaker for many years, she went to work at Sanna Dairies and worked there until the plant closed. In 1980, Verna and Lyle moved to Lake Nebagamon to retire. They enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing and cherished the many friendships they made. In 1990 after Lyle’s death, Verna moved back to Cameron into a home built for her by family and friends.

Verna is survived by five sons: Larry of Grand Junction, CO, Steven, Michael (Mary Lee) and Mark (Lori) Kisling all of Cameron and Bradley (Sheila) Kisling of Rice Lake, three daughters: Sharon (Roger) Kaiser and Kathy (Robert) Van Helden of Cameron and Charlotte (James) Spencer of Manhattan, KS, 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, two sisters: Florence Gronski of Rice Lake and Barbara (Russell) Clausen of Cameron, two brothers-in-law: Ed Frankenberg of Cameron and Al Dullinger of Trego, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Lyle on December 3, 1989, one brother: Harry Skrupky and five sisters: Caroline Gronski, Harriet Dullinger, Margaret Frankenberg, Dorothy Hessel and Catherine Ajewski.

Funeral Services

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 10, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Cameron with Father Bala Raju Policetty officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, also in Cameron. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
