Vernon Moen Obituary

Vernon K. Moen, age 92, of Prairie Farm, WI passed away on Saturday, July 13th, 2019 at Pioneer Health & Rehabilitation in Prairie Farm. He was born September 17th, 1926 to Alvin & Agnes (Holland) Moen at Prairie Farm. He attended school at Prairie Farm & lived in that area his entire life. On January 7th, 1950 he was married to Gerene Knutson at Amery. They were married 67 years & together they raised 9 children; Pam, Peggy, Vicki, Mike, Gary, Brad, Craig, Darrin & Trevor. Vern did over the road trucking for 20+ years & then started his own heavy equipment construction business, “Moen Construction”. He later worked for Koshak Construction & Mann Brothers before retiring. After retiring he did some part-time work for Cormican Construction. Vern enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching birds & sports on television.

Vern was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Gerene on March 17th, 2017, father & mother-in-law, daughter: Peggy Nelson, sons: Mike & Craig Moen, sister: Adeline Johnson, brother: Woodrow Haugen & son-in-law: Bruce Kallenbach. He is survived by his daughters: Pam (Buddy) White of Cumberland & Vicki Kallenbach of Prairie Farm, sons: Gary (Lindy) Moen of White Pine, MI, Brad (Lori) Moen of Turtle Lake, Darrin (Terri) Moen of Hillsdale & Trevor (Connie) Moen of Turtle Lake, daughter-in-law: Gerry Moen of Prairie Farm, numerous grandchildren, great & great great grandchildren, sister: Leatrice Mills of Fridley, MN, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives & friends.

Funeral Services

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22nd at First Lutheran Church of Arland with Rev. Tim Vettrus officiating & interment following in Independent Cemetery in the Town of Arland. Visitation will be (was) held from 4-7 p.m. Sunday & also for the hour prior to services on Monday, both at the church. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Dallas & Cameron.
