Violet I. Hover

Violet I. Hover, age 91, formerly of Cameron, WI passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 5, 2017, at Dove Healthcare-Rice Lake, WI. She was born April 5, 1926, in Chetek, WI to Emery and Hulda (Van Schoick) Hyland, the oldest of twelve children. Vi grew up and attended school in Chetek. On October 10, 1942, she married Clyde D. Hover at the Island Lake Church and began their 62 year journey together. Their farm in Maple Grove was also where they welcomed their 3 children. They also made their home in Dallas before building their dream destination on Prairie Lake, where they lived 39 years. Vi was the image of the traditional wife, mother and homemaker, quietly supporting her family with unfailing love and energy and skill. She found great joy in occasional travels and embraced her friends as a true blessing.

Vi is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann (Jim) Sevals and son Thomas (Jani) Hover, both of the Rice Lake area; 6 grandchildren: Kevin (Dawn), Jason, Stacee, Jamie (Liz), Stephanie (Smitty) and Jordan; 8 great grandchildren: Matthew (Dawn), Brianna (Rob), Katlyn, Jaymee, Eva, Mya, Avery and Xavier; 4 great great grandchildren: Abigale, Austin, Adam and Kiley; sisters: Margaret, Helen and Yvonne; brothers: Robert, LaWayne and Maynard; brother-in-law: Curtis, as well as many nieces and nephews, and an abundance of friends, including her Maplecroft family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde and son, Larry, a reunion that now makes her heart complete again. Also her parents, sisters: Lillie, Ruby and Ilabelle, brother: Emery and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be (were) held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 8, at Faith Lutheran Church in Cameron, Wisconsin with Pastor Tamra Harder officiating and interment following at Wayside Cemetery in Barron Wisconsin. Visitation will be (was) held for the hour prior to services at the church on Friday. The family would like to thank the staffs at Dove Healthcare of Barron and Rice Lake, and also Mayo Home Health & Hospice for their loving care. Memorials will be directed to Faith Lutheran Church and Mayo Home Health & Hospice. Arrangements are with Rausch-Lundeen Funeral Homes, Cameron & Dallas.
